Industrial hearing services

Hearing health plays a significant role in productivity and safety. Our specialized services are tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses and professionals, helping you or your team maintain optimal hearing and WCB-AB compliance.

North Star Hearing is an authorized hearing assessment and hearing aid vendor for the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta, so we know how critical it is to maintain compliance with WCBAB.

For workers in identified noise areas, we provide on-site or in-clinic hearing tests for initial baseline testing, follow-up annual tests, and two-year follow-up tests. We manage your company database, provide annual data for any shifts or changes in worker's hearing, and
provide full medical testing (free of charge) for anyone with an abnormal screening result.

Our business is a full-time hearing clinic. We are experts in hearing, and hearing is all we do. You can trust that your employees will be cared for properly, carefully, and with the expertise only a medical clinic can provide.

Noise management programs in Alberta

At North Star Hearing, we understand the importance of protecting employees' hearing health in industrial environments. Exposure to high noise levels is a common occupational hazard in many industries, and if not properly managed, it can lead to irreversible hearing loss and greatly affect an individual’s quality of life. Noise-induced hearing Loss (NIHL) poses safety risks in the workplace, as it can hinder communication and increase the likelihood of accidents.

Our comprehensive industrial hearing testing services are designed to help businesses comply with regulatory requirements, ensure workplace safety, and maintain the overall well-being of their workforce.

Regulatory compliance

Employers must adhere to occupational health and safety regulations that mandate the monitoring and protection of employee hearing levels. In Canada, regulations set forth by organizations such as the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), outline specific guidelines for noise exposure limits and hearing conservation programs. North Star Hearing's industrial hearing testing services are designed to help businesses meet these regulatory standards and avoid potential legal and financial repercussions.

Hearing preservation counselling

We see the result of long-term exposure to noise in our clinic every day. We know how important it is to educate and guide employees toward compliance and to be proactive for themselves. Every interaction with a worker includes discussion and personalized advice on protecting hearing, managing sound exposure, and preventing hearing loss over time.
