Free Hearing Aid Trials

Purchasing a set of hearing aids shouldn’t be a financial risk. We have all heard stories about people who put their hearing aids in a drawer and never take them out again, or people who take their hearing aids out of their ears when things get noisy. This is a big investment for you, and North Star Hearing respects that investment. We want to ensure that you are fully satisfied with your hearing aid purchase, and we want you to tell everyone you know how much you love them!

All of our hearing aids come with a minimum 30-day trial period, which we can extend if needed. This free trial allows you to bring your hearing aids home and into your unique daily world and ensure they are comfortable, beneficial, and worth your health investment.

Having a window of opportunity to try out your hearing aids without commitment allows you to ensure that the type and style of hearing aid you have chosen is the right fit. Not everyone has the same sound preferences, and part of our job is to ensure that we fit you with a device that works for you.

All of our hearing aids include:

  • An extensive warranty program with full hearing aid coverage
  • Complimentary batteries
  • Complimentary hearing aid care kit
  • Complimentary hearing aid accessories
  • Complimentary hearing aid clean & checks
  • Complimentary service appointments

While “test-driving” your new hearing aids, we recommend that you:

  • Wear the hearing aids as much as possible. Your brain needs time to get used to hearing all of life’s sounds again!
  • Bring them into different environments to see how they operate.
  • Test out Bluetooth streaming with your phone or tablet.
  • Come see us one or two weeks later for adjustments and to answer any questions you have.

Benefits

Hearing aids can provide many benefits for individuals with hearing loss. Some of the most significant benefits include:
  • Social connections
Improved communication and social interactions: Hearing aids can help improve your ability to hear and understand others, making social situations and communication with friends, family, and colleagues easier and more enjoyable.
  • Quality of life
Better overall quality of life: Hearing loss can have a negative impact on your overall quality of life, including your relationships, emotional well-being, and mental health. By improving your hearing, hearing aids can help you feel more engaged and connected to the world around you.
  • Safety
Enhanced safety: Hearing aids can help you hear important sounds, such as a smoke alarm, a car horn, or a knock at the door, which can improve your safety in various situations. Flooded sinks often happen for people with hearing loss; the sound of running water is less apparent or gone altogether, and when those sounds are absent, it's easier to forget.
  • Cognitive function
Improved cognitive function: Research has shown that hearing loss can lead to cognitive decline, including memory loss and a reduced ability to process information. By treating your hearing loss with hearing aids, you may be able to prevent or slow down cognitive decline.
  • Physical health
Better physical health: Hearing loss has been linked to a number of physical health problems, including an increased risk of falls and other accidents, as well as depression and anxiety. By improving your hearing with hearing aids, you may be able to reduce your risk of these and other health problems.

The process for getting hearing aids

Concern about hearing loss

Hearing loss can sometimes be unnoticed by the individual but may be apparent to family and friends. Loved ones might begin pointing out missed conversations or an unusually high TV volume. Whether you’ve been encouraged by those around you or decided to take the first step on your own, the journey begins with scheduling a hearing test at North Star Hearing.

Initial visit and diagnosis

During your initial visit, a comprehensive hearing test will be performed to assess any areas of difficulty. Once the test is complete, our hearing specialists will explain the results in a way that directly connects to the challenges you may have already noticed—such as struggling to follow conversations in busy environments. This diagnosis will help us determine the next steps for your hearing care.

Recommending the right hearing aid

After diagnosing your hearing loss, we will recommend hearing aids tailored to your specific needs. Whether your preference is for an in-the-ear hearing aid or a behind-the-ear hearing aid, we’ll guide you through the options that best suit your hearing requirements and lifestyle. Your comfort and preferences are paramount, and we ensure you’ll be able to choose a device that works for you.

Exploring technology and customization

Next, we’ll explore the technology and features available with modern hearing aids. Whether you’re interested in a hearing aid with Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio from your TV or phone, or you prefer a more straightforward model, we’ll explain all the options clearly. If you qualify for insurance coverage or other funding options, we’ll also review the financial assistance process. Customization features, such as color choices and accessories, are available to make sure your hearing aid feels personal to you.

Hearing aid fitting

Once your hearing aids are ready, you’ll come in for a fitting appointment. At this session, we’ll use Real Ear Measurements to ensure that your hearing aid is perfectly calibrated to meet your specific hearing needs. Our hearing specialists will guide you through how to wear, adjust, and care for your new hearing aids. Expect an adjustment period as you get used to hearing again, and know that we’ll be here to support you during this transition

Trial and adjustment period

Two weeks after your fitting, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments to your hearing aids for optimal comfort and clarity. You’ll have a 30-day trial period to test your new hearing aids and ensure they meet your expectations. Throughout this period, we provide ongoing support to help you adapt to the devices and ensure you’re satisfied with the results.

Long-term care and support

Even after your trial period, regular annual checkups are recommended to ensure your hearing aids continue to perform at their best. At North Star Hearing, we offer long-term care and support, including maintenance services, so that you can continue enjoying clear hearing. Our commitment is to help you stay connected to the sounds of life through consistent support and hearing aid maintenance.

A personalized journey to better hearing from diagnosis to ongoing care

This step-by-step process is designed to ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and supported as you take steps toward improved hearing. From diagnosis to long-term care, we are with you every step of the way to make sure you’re receiving the best care and hearing clearly.
